From electric cars to automated hoovers, technology is fast changing the world and the way we live every single day. January 6 is National Technology Day and at NFK we review some of the coolest tech-based games that can make your child’s play time amazingly fun and inventive.
- Hover Soccer Ball – This indoor soccer ball is perfect for those snowy or rainy days when outdoor play becomes a no-no. It’s cool, light weight and is cleverly designed to stay suspended to the ground so you don’t have to worry about damages in the house. A great way to say bye-bye to all that extra screen time.
- GeoSmart Flip Bot – A set of individual magnetic shapes, wires, wheels, and motors that your child can then use to create their very own wacky robot car! It gets better with a remote which allows them race it over varied terrain, or flip it over when they switch from going backward to going forward, and vice versa.
- Uranus 3D pen starter kit – While the market has dedicated 3d printers for children, this 3d drawing pen is a better option for parents with a budget. It draws both vertically and horizontally on just about any surface and allows your child to instantly make 3d creations of their choice, whenever and wherever they want to.
- Flycatcher Smart Pixelator – This cool pixel device enables kids to pixelate over 50 customized designs, enabling them to create 2D and 3D projects using pixel beads, pegs or sequins. It’s a fun way to develop your child’s smart motor ability, creativity and spatial movement skills.
- VTech Kidizoom Camera Connect – A great way to pique your child’s interest in a creative hobby, this real 1.3 megapixel camera with 4x digital zoom stores up to 1000 photos. It takes photos with funny stamps, borders or silly photo effects and even has a video recorder with sound! A perfect gift for a generation that has largely seen only a smartphone being used to take photos.
So this National Technology Day, ditch the smartphone and Ipad and switch to these inventive toys instead. Who says tech and kids don’t go together?
