in Nudges
In a study, the famous researcher Brian Wansink and his colleagues found that a simple sticker of a well-known character nudges kids toward eating apples instead of cookies.
In an experiment, kids in a cafeteria had to choose between eating an apple, a cookie, or both. At first, not many kids were picking up apples. Putting a sticker of the famous character Elmo on the apples almost doubled the number of kids who had one.
You can easily try this at home:
- Find the favorite characters of your kids
- Put stickers of them on what you want them to eat.
