1. Share the Positives –News channels, newspapers, social media platforms and Whatsapp forwards are bringing in a barrage of information to us each day. But when it comes to speaking with your children, focusing on the positives is always a good idea. You could tell your children about the recovery rates in your country or share stories of frontline heroes who are fighting to make a difference.
2. Offer Hope – Ensure your family and you stay in touch with friends and extended family members, especially if your city or country is going through a lockdown. Building a chain, a community of hope is essential, especially in times of crisis.
3. Make After Plans – Ask your children to make a list of all the things you want to enjoy after the pandemic – It could be something small like enjoying dinner together at your family’s favourite restaurant or something big like picking a destination for your next family holiday.
4. Peace out –Ensure your family takes some time out to pray or meditate each day. Sensitivity, empathy and peace of mind are the need of the hour, wherever in the world you may be.
